Rooted and Rising: New Orleans Through Our Eyes

New Orleans, LA

This photo series captures my journey to New Orleans with the Sunrise Movement Black Caucus, a space of resistance, reflection, and community. Through the lens, I sought to document more than a trip. I aimed to honor the stories, the people, and the energy of a city where culture, struggle, and joy are deeply intertwined. From vibrant street corners to quiet moments of connection, these images reflect the power of Black organizing, the beauty of collective vision, and the soul of a city that continues to rise. Each photo is a tribute to what it means to be rooted in purpose and rising together.
